These Creepy Cashew Crawlers are the perfect addition to any Halloween spread! With just three ingredients, they are simple to make and a healthy substitute for refined sugar-laden treats.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups (200 grams) of cashews
- 10 large (200 grams) pitted Medjool dates
- 2 tablespoons of cacao powder.
Instructions:
Cover dates in water for 1-2 hours to soften (if longer than 1 hour, put in fridge).
Set aside a handful of the cashews (for the spider legs!)
Chop up the rest of the cashews in a food processor and set them aside.
Remove dates from the water. Chop up dates in food processor.
Once dates are ground, add the cacao and the ground cashews. Mix ingredients until fully blended together.
Roll half of the dough into quarter sized balls and the other half into dime sized balls.
Stick one of each of the different sized balls together to form the spider's body. Repeat until all the dough is paired.
Break the cashews you set aside in halves. Arrange 8 cashew halves around the larger dough ball - these are the spider's legs! Complete for all the dough balls.
Sprinkle a dash of cacao powder on the serving plate.
Put on your favorite Halloween costume and enjoy!
