An ideal substitute for eggs to create a vegan meal from a non vegan recipe. Works well for pancakes, quick breads, brownies, muffins, cookies, and more!
- 1 tbsp flaxseed meal
- 2 1/2 tbsp water
Combine flaxseed meal and water in a bowl and stir together. Put in fridge for 10 minutes to stiffen. Add to recipes in place of 1 egg.
It’s not an exact 1:1 substitution in every recipe because it doesn’t bind and stiffen during baking quite like an egg does.
